Fin DAC is a self-taught, non-conformist, self-proclaimed ‘Urban Aesthetics’ artist who explores themes related to female empowerment which is meant to pivot the male gaze and disrupt colonialist attitudes particularly surrounding the Eastern experience.
Fin is known on a global scale for his depictions of Eurasian women and is inspired by traditional and ceremonial dressing. Fascinated by Asian beauty, he focuses only on their aesthetics with no political message.
His work, on walls, paper, wood and metal crafts celebrates their sensuality with cultural sensitivity. When he works in an outdoor context, the women Fin DAC paints are often large and commanding, claiming ownership over their urban environment. Although his murals are present in countries and continents all over the globe, Fin DAC remains very much an outsider of the street art scene.
